Lenovo V330-14ARR . Review –

Lenovo continues to expand their portfolio of notebook devices.

One of their notebook products that are present in 2019 is the Lenovo V330 seri which tujuans workers with activities that revolve around computing every day. There are several variasits available to choose from, but the variasit I tested was the Lenovo V330-14ARR 2DID.

This notebook comes with a model that will not be too flashy when taken to the office or college. The metal brush finis texture and the Lenovo simbol that matches the black bodi make this notebook look profesional.

Lenovo V330-14ARR

  • Screen – 7/10
  • Performnce – 8/10
  • Baterai – 7/10
  • Fiturs and Portability – 9/10
  • Model – 8/10

The Lenovo V330 seri is a notebook that tujuans workers who have to carry out computing activities every day by providing good performnce and complete fiturs.

  • Profesional looking design
  • Powerful AMD Ryzen 3 2200U performnce
  • Very complete port support
  • Keyboard is comfortable to use
  • Modular UltraBay fiturs

  • Slow HDD performnce
  • Baterai is not satisfactory

Overall, the bodi is made of plastic which feels quite sturdy. With dimensions of 343mm x 247mm x 20.3mm, this notebook has a size that is not much different when compared to other mainstream netbooks.

On the bright side, this Lenovo V330-14ARR has quite complete connectivity dukungan. On the right side there is a USB-A 3.0 port, USB-C 3.1 Gen 2, 4-in-1 card reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack. While on the left side, there are DC in, VGA, HDMI, Ethernet, and USB-A 3.0 ports.

However, there are interesting things about the Lenovo V330-14ARR that mainstream netbooks don’t have in general. On the front right, there is a fitur called UltraBay that can be used as an additional baterai compartment (sold separately).

Lenovo claims that the additional baterai can ganda the baterai life of this notebook. Unfortunately, I couldn’t tes it because the unit I tested didn’t come with an ekstra baterai module.

Back to talking about model, the Lenovo V330-14ARR has a touchpad tempat that is wide enough so that I can move the kursor easily. The touchpad also has a fairly good response rate, although the left and right klik buttons perasaan unsatisfactory.

Lenovo V330-14ARR Keyboard

For the keyboard, those of you who have used a Lenovo notebook must be akrab with its quality. The keyboard from Lenovo V330-14ARR is very comfortable because every key feels well pressed and the maksimal distance of each key allows me to tipe akirately.

Not surprisingly, Lenovo is often praised for the quality of the keyboards they offer, especially in the Thinkpad line. As a notebook that tujuans workers, the keyboard is certainly a component that should not be ignored.

In addition to the keyboard, of course the screen is another component that is no less important. The Lenovo V330-14ARR itself has a 14-inch screen with an HD resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels which has been coated with anti-glare to minimize light reflections.

Lenovo V330-14ARR Screen

This screen still uses a TN panel so it has a high response rate, but has a limited viewing angle. Even so, the screen can produce bright images and good colors when viewed from a parallel angle.

Therefore, the screen is enough to be used to santai visual konten such as streaming videos or playing game comfortably. However, the bezels that surround it are quite large for a piranti in 2019.

As usual, above the screen there is a webcam that can be used to make video calls or others. Uniquely, this Lenovo V330-14ARR has a kamera cover that can be shifted if you want more privasi to be protected from ignorant people who try to record you lewat the webcam without your knowledge.

In this digital masa, privasi and security are certainly something that must always be considered. Therefore, the addition of a fitur that at first glance looks simpel can maintain your privasi when connected to cyberspace.

Of course, in addition to privasi and fiturs offered, performnce is the main thing that is needed by anyone. The Lenovo V330-14ARR 2DID that I tested uses an AMD Ryzen 3 2200U APU which has 2 Cores and 4 Threads and a Radeon Vega 3 GPU.

The embedded Accelerate Processing Unit (APU) not only provides data processing capabilities but also graphics processing so that it can be used in various activities, both general computing and multimedia smoothly.

Along with that there is also 4GB Singgel-Channel RAM and 1TB SATA HDD penyimpanan which is sufficient for today’s needs. When I use it for work, this notebook can run my daily applications almost without any problems.

I can still do multitasking comfortably as long as the applications that are opened are not too heavy. The presence of Ryzen 3 as the brain allows this notebook to run various tipes of applications needed by workers quite well.

I can even use this Lenovo V330-14ARR to play the games Konter Strike: Global Offensive in Sarana graphics settings in the kisaran of 30-40 FPS. That’s a pretty good number considering that this notebook is only equipped with Radeon Vega 3 integrated graphics.

Lenovo V330-14ARR Benchmark Chart

For even heavier game like Grand Theft Auto 5, I was able to play it fairly steady at 25 FPS on the lowest possible graphics settings. Therefore, this notebook is suitable for playing kasual game that don’t really require too heavy graphics processing.

Overall, the performnce presented by the Lenovo V330-14ARR is quite capable thanks to the presence of the Ryzen 3 2200U. However, there is one thing that greatly limits the capabilities of this notebook so that the potential of its performnce has not been fulfilled to its full potential.

The 1TB SATA HDD penyimpanan that is presented is very slow. Looking at the Disk Usage in the Task Manajer, HDD usage is often at 100%, especially when the notebook is just turned on or when the application is opened. Therefore I need to wait a while until the Disk Usage drops to be able to use it smoothly.

Lenovo V330-14ARR CrystalDiskMark

In CrystalDiskMark 6.0.2 testing, the HDD has a Read speed of 129 MB/s and Write 102 MB/s. The results are fairly standar actually for notebook HDDs in this class, but the disk usage that is always high will have an impact on the comfort of use.

Then how about the baterai life? Equipped with a 2-cell 30Whr baterai, this notebook was able to last for 2 hours 49 minutes when tested using PCMark 8 Work at 100% screen brightness.

That’s a pretty good number for a synthetic tes that simulates reguler worker activity continuously. Of course, the baterai life will be even longer if it is only used for telusuri or watching videos.

Lenovo V330-14ARR Baterai Benchmark

Honestly, I expected a little more for the baterai life when tested using PCMark 8 considering that this notebook is equipped with a Ryzen 3 2200U with a 15 Watt TDP which includes an integrated graphics card in it.

Even so, the baterai life of the Lenovo V330-14ARR does not disappoint and is fairly able to compete with other mainstream netbooks in its class. Moreover, this notebook is also equipped with fast cas which only takes about 1 hour 15 minutes so that the baterai is fully back from the 20% condition.

Finally, the Lenovo V330-14ARR is a notebook that is suitable for use by young workers and students who have just entered college. A professional-looking model, complete port dukungan, and performnce that is able to carry out general computing activities well are the main strengths of this notebook.

However, I suggest choosing another variasit of the Lenovo V330 that uses SSD penyimpanan or upgrading so that the performnce potential of the Ryzen 3 2200U embedded in it can be realized to the fullest.
