Design

ASUS ZenBook 14 UX435

ZenBook 14 UX435 appears in Pine Gray warna which gives a premium and profesional impression. There are no more gold lines above the keyboard ruangan as found in the previous generation. The netbook now looks calmer and to be honest I’m happier with this bentuk.

The material used by this netbook feels sturdy and ASUS is back using the ergolift hinge bentuk which will make the netbook lift slightly when the screen is opened to make the typing process more comfortable.

Unfortunately the model is a bit stained with the many stickers attached. If this wasn’t a loan ulasan netbook, I would have removed all the stickers to make this netbook look as beautiful as it should be.

The size of the netbook is rather large but the weight is still light in its class, only around 1.29kg. Taking advantage of its large size, ASUS has embedded a fairly complete keyboard including its own PageUp and PageDown buttons. But unfortunately the arrow navigation buttons are a bit too small.

For ports, ZenBook 14 UX435 provides a USB 3.2, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, audio jack, microSD card reader, and HDMI 2.0. The number of USB ports looks a lot, but it should be noted that this netbook is charged lewat the USB-C slots. If the netbook is used while cas, it will automatically only have two USB ports available.
Screen

ASUS ZenBook 14 UX435

As the name implies, ZenBook 14 UX435 uses a 14″ screen, the right size for everyday work use. Fortunately, this netbook doesn’t get too big because the screen has thin bezels, especially on the left and right sides.

The bezel at the luar biasa of the screen looks slightly larger due to the placement of the kamera and infrared sensor used for Windows Hello.

The screen itself uses IPS technology with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The screen also supports touch input but it’s worth noting that the screen can’t be bent 360° like the ZenBook Flip.

The brightness of the screen for outdoor use feels a bit less bright even at 100% brightness tingkat and plus the screen uses a reflective finis so that it reflects objects in front of the netbook screen. Fortunately the konten on the screen can still be seen clearly and indoors the screen brightness is sufficient.

ASUS ZenBook 14 UX435

One thing that is unique about ZenBook 14 UX435 is the presence of a ScreenPad screen in the ruangan under the keyboard that replaces the standar touchpad. Apart from being able to be used for netbook navigation, this ScreenPad can also function like a second screen.

The screen size is not as big as the main screen of this netbook, but the screen resolution reaches 2160×1080 pixels. Both ScreenPad screen resolution and brightness can be set independently from the main screen. If the ScreenPad is activated, it is certain that the netbook baterei will be sucked up faster.

ASUS provides several special applications for ScreenPad such as numeric keypad and assistive tools when revisi Microsoft Office documents. Ordinary applications can be easily shifted from the main screen of the netbook to the ScreenPad. In addition there is also a shortcut spek to open multiple applications at once on the main screen.

I myself rarely use ScreenPad because I prefer to fokus on only one screen. I usually use ScreenPad more to display the numeric keypad or display Spotify playlists while working.

If you’re not akrab with ScreenPad it might perasaan a bit awkward because the kursor can accidentally move from the main screen to the ScreenPad ruangan especially if the Windows taskbar is set to automatically hide. Luckily this ScreenPad spek can be turned off or turned into a normal touchpad if you wish.

Performance

ASUS ZenBook 14 UX435

ZenBook 14 UX435 has been performing fast for my daily work activities that use a lot of productivity apps and the Krom browser with multiple tabs. Naturally, because this netbook uses the latest generation Intel Core i7-1165G7 prosesor and abundant 16GB LPDDR4x RAM.

Plus ZenBook 14 UX435 has its own graphics prosesor using NVIDIA GeForce MX450 with 2GB GDDR6 VRAM. But don’t have high hopes to be able to play heavy permainan smoothly here. This netbook for gaming is more suitable for playing permainan with alat graphics such as Skyrim Special Edition.

ASUS ZenBook 14 UX435EG – Cinebench R23 Multi Core

In testing using Cinebench R23, this netbook achieved a fairly high skor even though it was not the best in its price class.

For data penyimpanan, ZenBook 14 UX 435 provides 1 TB SSD penyimpanan that uses PCIe NVMe 3.0 technology. The SSD capacity is very wide so you don’t have to worry about running out quickly.

In terms of the speed of reading and writing data, the SSD used by this netbook is very fast. To kopi my 13GB file it only took about 18 seconds. In various tests through the CrystalDiskMark application, the SSD also shows high speed.

Like notebooks in general, ZenBook 14 UX435 provides a webcam. There’s really nothing special about the webcam, the quality of the gambar capture is practically standar for a webcam.

Interestingly, the microphone on this netbook is equipped with AI Noise-Canceling Microphone technology to muffle the sound around it. When I use this spek while doing a video konferensi, the sound of the crickets in my yard has been successfully muffled so it can’t be heard by the other pribadi, but with a side efek, my voice sounds a bit less alami.

The speakers on ZenBook 14 UX435 have been certified by Harman Kardon which are capable of producing loud and clear sound. In this masa of working from home like now, playing music on capable netbook speakers makes my work more enjoyable without having to use eksternal speakers.
Battery

ASUS ZenBook 14 UX435

ZenBook 14 UX435 uses a 63 Wh LiPo baterei as its power source. For my daily work use without using heavy apps like permainan, the baterei lasts for 5 hours 14 minutes from 100% to 10% tingkat. This is with 100% screen brightness seting, ScreenPad disabled, and Better Baterei model.

When the baterei was tested with the PCMark 8 application with the same netbook settings but the screen brightness was at 50%, ZenBook 14 UX435 scored 4 hours 41 minutes. Baterei life is quite satisfactory. Can be used while working in a kafe for hours without needing to recharge the baterei.

For cas the baterei, a 65W power adapter is provided with a USB Model-C konektor. It takes about 2 hours 40 minutes to fully charge the baterei from the 10% tingkat.

But it seems that after the baterei power reaches 90% the cas process becomes slower. So if you just want to charge the baterei to a tingkat of around 90%, the cas duration will certainly be faster.
Conclusion

ASUS ZenBook 14 UX435

ASUS ZenBook 14 UX435 is a very capable netbook to dukungan daily activities, especially for me to work. The screen size is large but the netbook is still kompak and light. Performnce is fast, coupled with blaring speakers and a microphone with sound suppression technology.

One drawback that I perasaan is the screen is a bit less bright especially when used outdoors. And even though the ScreenPad looks attractive at first glance, I still haven’t felt any significant benefits, this spek even more often makes me break my concentration looking at two alternate screens.
